fresh start

well its been a long time since my last post. I have been in my new job as a mortuary technician for 8 months now. This has not all been fun and games and i have had alot of problems. This has been very hard for me and i admit my diet has slipt because of this. I have been comfort eating and i am really angry at myself for putting all the weight i lost back on and more. I now weigh more then i think i ever have and i am very close to reaching 15 stone, something i do not want to happen. This is why i have been encouraged to get myself back on track and start losing weight. One big thing driving me on is that non of my cloths that fit me before i moved down south fit me any longer!!
I have also been given extra encouragement as i am now going to Hong Kong later this year and i would like to have lost some weight by then. I dream of wearing shorts out there!

So, i am trying to sort a few things out with my life. Im starting to get my diet back on track, i have a great new haircut and i have even applied for another trainee job but in a different hospital. have to see what happens with thats but it should be a much better place then im working in now. If nothing comes of it then i still have to remember that the hospital i am in now is only temporary until i am qualified and the harder i work at that the sooner i can get qualified and get out of there.

So lets see how things go!

Catch up

right, i have finally got a chance to update by blog. got a lovely cup of tea and the OH is off playing with the dog.
I have finished my second sponsored slim and i am pleased to say i reach my target of £100. Unfortunately i did not actually lose any weight :( this is starting to frustrate me now. I haven't actually gone past 2 stone. I reach it a month ago and have stuck round it by putting on a couple, losing a couple, putting on a couple etc.
to help me lose the weight i have decided to do more exercise, this will mean my weight loss might varie because i will be building up a little muscle. I have also decided to take part in the race for life in hartlepool, from the top of my head i think it July. I would really like to be able to jog the whole thing and get a decent time of less then 40 mins. i have a park near where i live that i have worked out to be 1.2 miles. If i can jog this 3 times then that will get me in good shape for the run and know that kind of time that i can achieve.
I have also started, from last night, to do the Natalie Cassidy DVD. Im hoping to do this 3 times a week, run round the park once a week (when the weather in nice) and do orienteering once a week if it is on. I think to help guide me i am going to do a rota every week with my menu for the week and exercise.
I have also started a new job working in a call centre for Vodafone. Not a very exciting job but at least its money coming in and it still gives me time to do my coursework. I have now started the foundation course in funeral directing and i am hoping to take the end exam in June. I don't have long to do the course, ideally i should be doing a unit a week :S scary stuff. If needed i have 2 weeks to complete a unit. This should take me to mid may, where i can then concentrate on revision and doing past papers. I have finished my unit one and am waiting for feed back, if it needs more work doing to it then he will return it. My unit 2 i am struggling with already but due to time. I have to visit a funeral directors and write a health and safety report. I arranged this a few months ago and have just been back in touch with the funeral directing company. The problem is they are open office hours and not at weekends. I also work full time. I am now having to take a sick day at work so that i can go to the funeral directors. Its worth doing tho because this is what i really want to do and i know i wont get sacked or in trouble for having a sick day.
Hopefully i will be able to report a good weight loss, or any significant weight loss, in the next few weeks.

2nd week gone

hi everyone well i have done the 2nd week of my sponsored slim. The first week i didnt loss anything :( but the second week i lossed 2lbs YAY but i want to do better so im going to count the week im on now as the 2nd week and my 2nd week as my first. I want to get good weight losses while im on a sponsored slim.
Im really trying for a loss this week as i am now 4lbs off my 2 stoen mini target. Would be great to loss that 4lbs in teh next two weeks as i am in Scotland on the 1st of march for a Scottish Slimmers meal and id love to have a hair cut for that. I think over the weekend i will have a few meals that are free to make up for any badness.
I think i have been snacking to much and not counting the checks. Realsing this has got my down a bit. I was good today tho and almost went for a cookie bar but had an apple instead. At least i will be able to take my dog for walks soon, he gets his 2nd injection on sat so soon after that we can take hm out :) wont be long walks but at least i will be out and about in the fresh air.
well i will let you know on tuesday if there has been a weight loss...fingers crossed

First week of sponsored slim so far

hay everyone, well im coming to the end of my first week on the sponsored slim and i think im doing quite well. I did weigh myself tho on friday and i had put 1lb on but i think its something to do with me eating the same foods over and over. They do say you need to vary what you eat and thats why this week i will be trying three different recipes:
-Microwave meatloaf
-Pasta and herby sausage balls
-Garlic chicken with couscous

I had the garlic chicken tonight and it was really nice, portions seemed a little small but its filling so that makes up for it.
Well i think varying my diet should help my weight loss, and i am tryng to loss 6lbs in my sponsored slim. i will be happy with any weight loss tho.
Im so proud of myself tho (smug i know) but other times i have dieted i would loss a stone and just give up. This time round i am almost at my 2 stone lossed mark and i am determined to keep going and get to my target weight. It helps that other people in my family are also on th SS diet and i have a supportive boyfriend who eats everything i make. I also conned him into getting him to pay for a haircut when i do reach my 2 stone mark :) there for im getting a treat for it that isnt food based.
I also have a little puppy now so when hes a little older i can take him for walks. They wont be long walks as hes a Newfoundland and at most they only need 30-40 mins walk a day when they get to about 9 months. Everything will help tho and playing with him and keeping him out of trouble helps alot.
well my weigh day is tuesday morning so hopefully i can change my ticker and have it move to the right :)

start of the sponsored slim

hay everyone, well today i am starting the sponsored slim. i managed to loss 1lb this week, not bad considering i was a little bit naughty in the week. But i have lossed a total of 22lbs and im so proud of myself. My mum and i will be going to the Scottish Slimmers meal in March, so if i work hard i could lose another stone by then, but i will just see how it goes. Will be nice going there as well as the next day is Mothers Day.
Hopefully i wont find the next two weeks to hard. Would be great if i could lose 5lbs as that will take me to my half way point and i would have lossed a total of 2 stone!!
i will keep you informed through the next 2 weeks and let you know how im getting on :)

2nd week back

hello everyone
well so far iv been back on the diet 2 weeks and i have lossed 5lbs, great start to the year. Another 2lbs and iv lossed 2 stone altogether and when i loss another 8lbs thats my half way point, feel great to have got so far already. I have said to my boyfriend that when i reach my half way point id like to go to the hairdressers and have a nice day out with him. i have to wait and see if that happens but at least its something to aim for.
well i will have something to keep me busy soon as i should be starting a foundation course in funeral directing. The final exam is in June and i will have a lot of coursework and reports to do. But at least its a step in the right direction for what i want to do and keep me busy.
i have also been looking or some new recipes so if anyone has any please let me know. i have found a good site, i believe its called 3 fat chicks. i will put a link on here. the only had thing is that all the recipes are American. How do i know what measurements to do if i want to make them in small quantities? theres some nice looking cookie recipes but i don't want to make 50 of them.

first week of 2008

hi everyone! well i have had my first week back on the SS diet and i have lossed 3lbs :) great start to the year i think. I just hope that i can keep it up, of course i have to keep going now as i have my slimming fundraising to do, the last one ending just after Easter. so at least no chocolate eggs for me unless i save my checks. 4 more pounds and i will be at my next half a stone. im going to try and plan to do something nice and special for myself for when i loss my second stone because that will be roughly my half way point. Have to keep my motivation going.
please let me know how you are getting on if you are on a diet as well.
